Home Remedies for Anxiety Attack

Anxiety or panic attacks can be extremely upsetting. For people who experience this on a regular basis, it can disrupt everyday life. In some cases, simple tasks like leaving the house, going to work or socializing can become terrifying possibilities.
There is no one solution or remedy for anxiety. In some cases you may need medical help, which may include prescribed drugs. If your condition is very serious, you should seek professional help. However, in many cases, home remedies can be extremely effective.

Home remedies for anxiety attack can, in some cases, be enough to stop or control the episodes. Even if this is not the case, they can lessen the severity of attacks and be useful during times when other treatment is not available (for example, if you run out of the medication you normally take).

Here are some tips that help many people who experience anxiety attacks:

*** Watch your diet. Avoid stimulants such as caffeine, sugar, alcohol and artificial sweeteners. Also stay away from illegal drugs. All of these can cause serious changes to your blood sugar, metabolism and state of mind. If you suffer from anxiety, these can make it worse. In some cases, this step alone will cure anxiety attacks! But this is not true for everyone; however, it is a good first step no matter what the cause of your anxiety.

*** Exercise and Get Outdoors. Motion, exercise and nature are all very therapeutic. Sometimes people who experience anxiety spend too much time indoors worrying about their problems. Get outside and move around; this can help take your mind off your troubles. It also is beneficial to your whole body and nervous system.

*** Niacinamide is a supplement that sometimes helps with anxiety attacks. It has a similar effect as drugs such as valium, but is gentler and is less likely to have side effects.

*** Try Aromatherapy. This may seem silly if you aren’t familiar with the concept, but your sense of smell is very powerful and scents can have a profound effect on your state of being. This is a complex subject, so I’ll only recommend that you research it and experiment to find out what scents work for you.

***Herbal Remedies can help with anxiety. Chamomile, Kava, St. John’s Wort and Valerian can all be effective. You can take herbs in capsule form or as a tea.

***Breathing Exercises. I’m listing this separately from regular exercise because there are special breathing exercises that can help with anxiety and other problems. Yoga classes often teach these. There are also books and videos, as well as workshops on breathing techniques. Meditation can also help.

*** The Linden Method is a comprehensive, drug-free, scientifically tested program with a success rate of 96.7%. If you are looking for a natural way to beat anxiety attacks, you may want to look into this:
